We build parcel systems on Odoo for bus companies, SACCOs and courier desks in Kenya. A parcel is booked at the office, labelled, put on the right bus with a manifest, handed over where routes meet, and collected at the other end by the right person, with the money accounted for at every desk.

01What the system covers

From the sending desk to the right hands.

Booking at the desk

Sender, receiver, destination and charge captured in seconds, a barcode label on the parcel, and an SMS to both sides confirming it is in the system.

Manifests per bus

Parcels are scanned onto a specific bus on a specific route, and the manifest prints from what was actually loaded, so the bus and the paper never disagree.

Route handover

A parcel crossing routes is handed over by scan, so responsibility moves with it and nothing vanishes between two offices.

Transit

Collection at destination

Arrivals are scanned in, the receiver is notified, and release is against the receiver's details, with partial and third-party collection handled.

Delivery

Cash and COD

Paid-on-sending and pay-on-collection both handled, each desk closing its shift against its own cash, so the money is accounted for office by office.

Tracking and reports

Customers check a parcel by its number, and management sees parcels and revenue per route, per bus and per office, plus what is sitting unclaimed.

03Questions we get asked

Bus parcels on Odoo, answered.

Do sender and receiver get SMS updates?
Yes. Both are messaged at the points you choose, booked, departed, arrived, collected, in wording you write. WhatsApp can be added on the same triggers.
Can a parcel get on the wrong bus?
Loading is by scan against a specific bus and route, so a parcel scanned onto the wrong one is flagged at the door, not discovered at the other end.
How is pay-on-collection handled?
The charge follows the parcel. The destination desk collects it before release, and it lands in that desk's shift close, so COD money is accounted for like any other.
What about parcels nobody collects?
Unclaimed parcels sit on a report by office and by age, with reminders going to the receiver, so the back room does not quietly fill up.
Can each office and agent be accountable for cash?
Yes. Every desk closes its own shift against its own bookings and collections, so a shortage points at a shift, not at the whole company.
Can customers track parcels themselves?
Yes. A parcel number checked on your website shows its current status, which takes those calls off your desks.
What happens after go-live?
We train the desks, the loaders and the office on their own screens, then support the system. There is an optional monthly support plan with a 24-hour weekday response. Without a plan, we still help when you call, and each request is quoted and billed on its own.
